Sincell Publishing produces The Republican newspaper each Thursday. The paper has been published since 1877, consistently carrying the news of Garrett County and the surrounding mountain tops in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The Republican is the only newspaper published in Garrett County, with the home office in downtown Oakland and a satellite location in Grantsville. Full coverage of events and activities are reported by experienced writers, and an award- winning advertising staff holds a high ranking in customer satisfaction. The editor of the paper is Donald W.Sincell, and his father, Robert B.Sincell, is the managing editor. Lisa Rook is the advertising manager.
