Send us an e-mail if you can identify these berries.
Our wild blueberries brighten the landscape.
The calm waters of the upper youghiogheny river don't reflect the world-class whitewater downstream.

Our wildflowers grow where black bears and bobcats roam. This is the native Cardinal Flower (Lobelia Cardinalis) on the banks of the youghiogheny.
After you've visited with us, you can get out of town and see sights like this one- the beautiful Youghiogheny River- just a short drive down the road. The river downstream not only becomes some of the world's best whitewater but it's also full of trout!
Our craftsmen include Gary Whiteman who'll repair your shoes and other leather goods in downtown Oakland.
Our downtown has shops and sights that are very inviting.
Hike or bike through some of the more than 90,000 acres of public land neighboring our town.
